Early Life And Political Career 

After Indira Gandhi was assassinated, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and her brother Rahul were homeschooled due to constant terror threats. She later attended the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Delhi, earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Jesus and Mary College at the University of Delhi, and obtained a master’s degree in Buddhist Studies in 2010.

Priyanka often visited Rae Bareilly and Amethi, her mother’s and brother’s constituencies, to interact directly with the people. During the 2004 Indian general election, she managed her mother’s campaign and helped with her brother Rahul’s campaign.

On January 23, 2019, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra officially entered politics by becoming the AICC General Secretary for the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh. Later, on September 11, 2020, she was appointed as the General Secretary in charge of all of Uttar Pradesh.

On August 5, 2022, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra participated in the Congress’s ‘Mehangai Par Halla Bol’ protest against rising prices and inflation, during which she was detained by the Delhi Police.

She served as the AICC General Secretary in charge of Uttar Pradesh until December 2023. Priyanka will be running as the Congress candidate for the Wayanad by-election.
