Early Life (1997–2004)
Parupalli Kashyap was born on September 8, 1986, in Guntur, India. He started training in badminton at the age of 11. Due to his father’s transferable job, his family moved frequently, and he trained at various academies, including the Padukone Academy in Bangalore. In 2004, after moving back to Hyderabad, he was diagnosed with asthma but overcame the condition with determination and appropriate medication.
Professional Career
2005–2009
In 2005, Kashyap won the boys’ singles title at the National Junior Open Badminton Championships representing Andhra Pradesh. He started competing internationally in 2006, making significant progress by defeating higher-ranked players and improving his world ranking from outside the top 100 to 64. He represented India at the 2006 Asian Games and won a gold medal at the 33rd National Games, defeating the then National champion Chetan Anand. From 2006 to 2007, he continued to win several national tournaments.
